I’ve been accused of being too hotheaded, not conciliatory enough to “both sides,” and stoking the flames of partisan bickering.
I agree that bickering to score political points or make someone look bad is dumb and further separates us, and I do apologize if my emotions sometimes get the best of me.
But there is right and there is wrong.
And when the whole world is on one side and the acolytes of Trump, like Rob Swearingen, is on the other, and that choosing the wrong side is both killing people unnecessarily and elongating an economic recession, then it’s time to stand up and fight.
The whole world is telling us that until we get a vaccine, universal mask wearing in public is the best shot we have to curb this pandemic and for life to get back to a semblance of normal.
At a recent rally to raise money for the expansion of the local YMCA, the YMCA had a mask policy and everybody followed it, except for one person: Rob Swearingen. See the pics below.
This guy couldn’t be bothered to put a mask on when it was a policy of the YMCA to do so, and every other person in the audience, presumably his own constituents, were doing it for their safety and the safety of those around them.
It doesn’t matter if you believe the mask will protect you or not, you do it out of common courtesy to the group that you’ve joined because they invited you to come.
You do it because you are representing them, because that is what you were elected to do.
Once again, you can clearly see that Rob Swearingen cares more about an ideology than his constituents, and what is worse, this ideology rejects science and facts.
Conservative neighbors, it’s OK to be conservative. Believe it or not, I share many beliefs with you. What’s not OK is that people in your party are rejecting science and putting you in harm’s way. There’s more of you conservatives than us liberals in the Northwoods, so you have to do the heavy lifting and get them out.
Please share with your conservative friends and if you strongly agree with me, consider donating to my campaign to help me boost these posts to people who need more convincing.
